Payment & Guarantor Guide

Payment & Guarantor Guide

Learn about your payment options, guarantor requirements and how to secure your accommodation.

Payment Options

We provide flexible payment arrangements to suit different needs and contract types.

Full Contract Payment

You can choose to pay the full cost of your accommodation in a single upfront payment.

  • Typically due one month before your contract start date
  • If you book after 1st August, the full amount will be collected at booking

Termly Instalments

Your total rent is divided into three scheduled payments, usually aligned with academic terms:

  • August
  • January
  • April

Monthly Instalments

Your contract value is spread more evenly across the year:

  • Usually 10 monthly payments
  • Some locations offer 12 monthly instalments

Important

  • A guarantor is required for any instalment plan.
  • Bookings made after 1st August require the first instalment to be paid during the booking process.
  • A detailed instalment schedule will be shown when you select Book Now and begin your application.

Rent Payment Dates

Your payment schedule is displayed during the booking process and included in your signed contract, available anytime via your online portal.

For a 51-week contract in the 2026/27 academic year, the expected payment dates are:

  • Full Payment: 1st August 2026
  • Termly Instalments: 1st August 2026 / 8th January 2027 / 20th April 2027
  • Monthly Instalments: 1st day of each month

Once your booking is confirmed and your contract is signed, all payment information can be accessed through your Concurrent Portal.

Guarantors

Why a Guarantor Is Required

In the UK, it is standard for accommodation providers to request a guarantor.
A guarantor ensures your rent is covered if you are unable to make a payment.

We can accept international guarantors at many of our residences. Please contact your property team to confirm suitability and eligibility.

What a Guarantor Must Provide

A guarantor is a responsible adult who signs a legal agreement to cover your rent should you default.

A suitable guarantor should:

  • Be someone you know personally
  • Be aged 18–75
  • Be employed full-time, self-employed, or receiving a private pension
  • Have a positive credit history
  • Provide proof of income
  • Provide proof of residence for the past 3 years

Please note

If you do not have a UK guarantor and an international guarantor cannot be accepted, you will be required to pay the full year’s rent upfront when applying. Please speak to a member of our accommodation team for further information.

Cancelling Your Booking

If you cancel before your contract begins or choose to leave early, our standard cancellation terms will apply.
